For Rice Media’s piece “My Full‑Time Job is Overcoming Drug Addiction”, I collaborated with Aaron using a Fujifilm Instax camera, allowing him to respond directly to images of his old neighbourhood and his current life. As this was a deeply personal story, we wanted his reflections to be integrated into the visual narrative. At first, we prompted him to write his thoughts in response to the images, but by the end, he was confidently picking up photos and knowing exactly what to write.
